The Department of Physics, University of Hormozgan, began to work in 1992 with the admission of a bachelor's degree in aerometric physics and had four full-time faculty members. In 2008, the admission of undergraduate students with the orientation of marine physics and meteorology and later in 2012 with a geophysical orientation (earthquake and geomagnetism) and finally in the year 1392 with an atomic and molecular trend was put on the agenda. The Department of Physics now has nine full-time faculty members in the field of atomic and molecular trends, geophysics and seismology, solid state physics and fundamental particles; 102 undergraduate students and 32 graduate students.
